A dark timber kitchen at night, lit by a brass ring ceiling fixture above the island

Australian lighting

Light is the last material.

Sculptural pendants and ceiling fixtures for rooms that are finished with light rather than filled with it.

In the room

The room is finished when the light goes on.

Every fixture in the range is chosen for how it behaves in a real Australian room after dark — against stone, against dark timber, at the ceiling heights we actually build to.

Approach

A room is built twice. Once in plan, and again in light.

We keep the range deliberately small. Each fixture is chosen for two things: the quality of the light it throws after dark, and the line it draws against a ceiling during the day. A pendant is on display for sixteen hours before it is ever switched on.

Nothing here is decorated. The form is the fitting — a continuous band of diffused light, held by the smallest amount of metal that will hold it.

Warm at night. Quiet by day.

In the room

Warm at night. Quiet by day.

Every fixture in the range switches between three colour temperatures — 3000K for evenings, 4000K for a working kitchen, 6000K where the task demands it. One fitting, adjusted to the hour rather than replaced.

Materials and detail

Metal, diffusion, and the shadow between.

The details that decide whether a fixture reads as considered or as bought.

01
Three temperatures, one fitting

Switchable between 3000K, 4000K and 6000K, so a single fixture suits an evening room and a working one.

02
Diffused, not exposed

The light source sits behind a continuous diffuser. You see a band of light, never a row of dots.

03
Low profile

Surface-mounted fixtures sit close to the ceiling — designed for standard Australian ceiling heights and hallways.

04
Black, white, brass

A restrained palette of finishes chosen to sit with the materials already in the room rather than compete with them.
